Light Shines Brightest

Line after line, and song after song,
Light praised, “Darkness is wrong.”

“What are you doing?” Looking for the Light,
Drowned out by the Noise. “But we’re so bright!”

“Light” and “Dark,” what do these even mean?
You use them so much, but I don’t think you know.
If it’s “Dark,” then it’s bad. If it’s “Light,” then it’s good.
But you never seem to ask, “Is that True, though?”What is “Dark”? What is “Light”?
Or perhaps a better question: Is Darkness really evil?
Your “brightness” provides perfect camouflage for shadows.
And I insist:
Light shines brightest in the darkness.
